"But I do feel strange-almost unearthly. I'll never get used to being alive. It's a mystery. Always startled to find I've survived."
- John Steinbeck, Journal of a Novel: The East Eden Letters #quote
If it was your first time, I wouldn't sweat it. Like everything, it takes practice. I'm only good at meditation sometimes, and even then, only specific types. Record how & what you did in detail, then take some time to reflect on what you could add or remove. Sometimes, trial and error is the way.
Honestly, it sucks every time I see others saying how useful AI is for reading tarot or making spells. Like I get it, humans make tools to perform tasks more efficiently. But, I think it's gone a little too far when you're outsourcing your own cognition and intuition.
Coyotes, jackals, vultures, and snakes. But the one I feel most connected to is the Hyena. I like many more animals, though, and look forward to including them in my practice as time goes on.
I honestly miss seeing the houses decorated and the neighborhoods filled with kids walking around. At least they still had a pumpkin patch and a harvest festival near me this year.
During the winter. I'm always more active in my personal pursuits when the weather gets colder.
A lot of times, I have to wait for the right mood to strike me. I naturally tend to meditate/fixate on the working. Days in advance, I'll begin working out details, set the tone, and eventually strike when the iron is hot. For bigger ceremonies, have specific rites I go through.
It definitely varies for me. Some require me to just wait until the right moment comes along. Others can involve fasting, partaking in certain substances, isolation, etc.

Born on this day French artist Lucien Levy-Dhurmer 1865
Levy-Dhurmer's "Sorceress", pastel on paper, is in the collection of the Musee d'Orsay, Paris, France

I love this photo, it's so eerie and eye-catching.
Absolutely stunning ring, I love the warmth of the amber. I have a datura flower necklace that I wear as a form of connection with the plant spirits I work in my practice.
I've been slowly curating/creating a new version of my personal oracle deck. It has been quite a journey parsing out the symbolism and imagery. #WitchSky #witchcraft #OccultSky #Divination #Witch
Looks more like an attempt to make a Baitong inkwell rather than an incense holder. Could definitely be repurposed for incense, though. I'd use the center for ash or cone incense.
Learning, exploring, and experimenting. Especially applying what you have learned to your life and practice. It's all well and good to know, but it's even better to understand and experience.

If Christianity could be defined as a transcendental religion focused on moving beyond this world, then Paganisms are best seen as faiths which embrace the immanent and focus on leaving a worthy legacy for the living world we all share.

Herbalism, including poisonous plants.
The iNaturalist app might be of use as some people may have pinpointed sightings of it. Best of luck with your foraging!
It's native to South Texas, quite far from you. Along the Rio Grande, it would be quite the expedition.
If you want the plants, you either have to take a chance and purchase one offline from eBay or Etsy or prepare to hike into the hilly, brushy parts of Texas to find one. The seeds tend to have low germination rates due to specific environmental preferences, like exposure ants and GA3
For all those #herbalism folk put there, I highly recommend you pick this book up. It's easily one of the most practical books I've read in a long time. #GreenWitch #Witch #WitchMadness #WitchSky #witchcraft #Herbs
I love the look of yours, the eyes are haunting in the best way! Got a death whistle of my own a few years back
Finally locked in and hunted down a physical copy for myself at a reasonable price. It's one of my all-time favs! #Herbalism #GreenWitch #PlantSky #Herbs #BookSky
Astrology and crystals. I like collecting shiny rocks, but I don't really use them for anything in my craft beyond offerings and decoration. Astrology, on the other hand, has just never been something I take note of in my work.
It's from the "Encyclopedia of Practical Receipts and Processes" by Williams B. Dick. It's not a witchy book but worth a look as long as you dont mind some strange old-school recipes.
Looking to make my own Florida Water soon! Managed to find some promising recipes in a new book. #WitchSky #GreenWitch #Witch #Witchcraft #WitchMadness #OccultSky
