Like it or not; That’s where patient demand meets patient satisfaction. It can open the door for an in-person visit if needed.

Physicians can help contextualize and follow-through on things; and bring the human element to care.

To expand access to healthcare and prevent replacement by AI; we need to make it as easy to get a human physician appointment, as it is to query chatGPT.

The only way to do this is by expanding coverage for things like telehealth & text visit options for patients who prefer it.

If we want to preserve the integrity of our profession and protect it from things like scope creep, AI and robotic replacement; we are going to have to come together & lean into those things; learn & take charge over their development, & implementation and regulation as physicians.

One amazingly cool thing I saw was this from @drmwelborn presentation at SRS. AI predicts genetics from a face picture. apps.apple.com/us/app/face2...

I depart with the restraint of one accustomed to fine company, attending to the door’s quiet assent as it closes. May your night gather itself with grace, unbroken and assured. The next day will bring our words once more into harmony.

Hats off to Kinsley Wang MS-2 my co-researcher for helping explain how we can use math to predict the future.

I asked the top 4 AI engines to make the most cringeworthy motivational quote imaginable and the results are below: #research

I don't think this is limited to elite pundits, writers, etc. I think it's a common trap to get to a certain point in your life believing you'd be in one future, and discovering you're in another, and then failing to plan how to move through that actual future.

Klein is a prime example of what I was talking about here, and what this post alludes to. Elite journalists are failing the moment because elite journalists are trying to do the job they imagined they would have instead of the job they actually need to do right now.

A concern I have with AI/SM is how they contribute to increased standardization, even when that means you’re cutting out “high outliers” (thereby throwing the baby out with the bathwater). ALL PROGRESS RELIES ON DIVERGENCE in both nature & networks. @aptshadow.bsky.social @abraham.bsky.social

I conclude as a caretaker of gardens locking the wrought iron gate, trusting the dusk to bestow its own eloquence upon the flowers that remain unobserved. May your judgment proceed like a cartographer tracing coastlines, absolute in vision, with each line reflecting the grace of your intellect.

My thoughts on why AI is needed in spite of acknowledging its many flaws.
