To reclaim U.S. energy leadership, we need bold action. In Re-Energizing America, my @cleantomorrow.org colleagues & I calls for a $25B investment in innovation by 2030 to power America’s global energy leadership. #energysky #climatesky cleantomorrow.org/re-energizin...
Clean Tomorrow - Re-Energizing America
Re-Energizing America is a new roadmap to address the “innovation cliff” that will occur when substantial federal funding expires in 2026.

Building on @cfr.org Global Energy Innovation Index, I share global trends, a mixed picture...the most worrisome being high-quality patents, flat or declining. More here: www.cfr.org/article/hope...

We’re number 13! We’re number 13! We’re number 13! Not a chant you hear often. But that’s where the United States ranks in @cfr.org new Global Energy Innovation Index. And that was before Trump. We’ve got to do better.

NEW! @cfr.org Global Energy Innovation Index measures knowledge, markets & policy. The world needs more innovation investment & effort by everyone, but some do more than others. @doctorkflem.bsky.social makes the case!
On day one of his second term, President Trump declared a national energy emergency.

Instead of speeding up the connection of new energy sources to the grid, Trump followed with a budget request for FY26 that kneecaps energy innovation.

US pumped hydro power capacity is about 22 GW.

It looks like battery storage will surpass that by the end of this year.

The pumped hydro will still store more energy, though. It can typically run for 10 hours or so; batteries just a couple hours. 🔌💡 www.eia.gov/todayinenerg...
