A powerful blog by ActionAid's Secretary General on the eve of the African Union Heads of State calling for debt cancellation and a transformation of the colonial international financial architecture - recognising that Africa is owed much more than it owes! africanarguments.org/2025/02/why-...
Why 2025 could be a turning point in Africa's debt emergency | African Arguments

A new study published in the Lancet finds that life expectancy in Gaza dropped by nearly half, from 75.5 years to 40.6 years, during the first twelve months of the genocide. Apocalyptic.

In 2025 DEBT will be a pivotal issue. I am working on crunching / analysing datasets on external debt, climate debt / atmospheric apropriation, failed aid promises, illicit financial flows, reparations etc - to get a big picture of Who Owes Who? I would welcome suggestions for sources / arguments!
Please add me ... it's great to see the growing numbers of people joining!

In 1968 Finland banned for profit education, the few private schools that exist in Finland have to reinvest any profit they make or pay it back to parents.

It has been in the Top 3 in education for the last 20 years.

There should be no profit in education or healthcare.
It's been a powerful week at the Social Justice Leadership Programme in TCDC, Arusha, Tanzania. In these volatile times we all have something new to learn about community organising and building rooted campaigns.

So a reminder:

It’s not ‘liberals’ saying Hegseth abuses women. It’s his mom.

It’s not ‘liberals’ comparing Trump to Hitler. It’s his vice-president.

It’s not ‘liberals’ calling Musk a liar and a racist. It’s his own child.

For the record.

But they can lock up non-violent protestors for 21 years, because they are a 'danger'.
