From Saddam Hussein’s draining of southern Iraq’s marshes to Russia’s attacks on a Ukrainian dam and nuclear power plant, calls are increasing to recognize mass environmental harms as international crimes.

@leilasadat1.bsky.social outlines a role for the proposed #CrimesAgainstHumanity treaty:
Case for Environmental Harm as a 12th Crime Against Humanity
Addressing the global environmental crisis requires urgent action. This treaty offers an opportunity to confront it directly and decisively.

Butterkase is the very color of moonlight. As for biscuits you can't beat Effie's.

I loathe fireworks.
And softly do all the animals who live in the woods with me.

"Summer, 1917" is my favorite painting of Cornish artist, Harold Harvey (1874-1941). Seeing it brings to mind the Henry James quote: "“Summer afternoon; to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language."

I hope you're bouncing along as happy as you can be in these strange Trump years. Being in Act 3 of my life I've run out of the energy needed to maintain outrage. I stare without affect at the headlines. My goat tube helps but I need to let out the waist. Wishing you and your family all my best, P

Thanks for sending, Elaine. I wear a similar goat tube but, being human, mine has pockets.

People are NOT understanding what empty cargo ships from China means.

It means no work for dock workers. No work for truck drivers, no work for retailers, fewer dollars circulating. The cascade effect is just mind boggling.

I never saw an Ashburn's but my vision may have been obscured by the Donut box my head was stuck in.

Speaking of strange days, today for no reason at all, the old restaurant chain, Zuider Zee, came floating into my mind. Specifically, the memory of their hushpuppies which I've not tasted since Junior High. Being a Dallasite I felt you'd understand.
