You make a good point. But I’ll add that a lot of the “good business case” was puffery or lies designed to get the money by any means imaginable, so it’s not such a leap.
Agree. And I didn’t know it was going on at all! It seems like a dystopian novel.
I was looking for something else, when I came upon this remarkable story.

“I am a victim of HIV because of engaging in sex for fish, and I have seen many families fall apart after husbands realized that their wives were engaged in this thing,’’ Dorothy says.

Women fishmongers in Kenya have had little choice in the widespread sex-for-fish culture, until now
“Our first fish cage gave us the empowerment we badly needed as women fishmongers. It moved us from being vulnerable sex objects to real businesswomen."

Clio, life’s true princess, enjoys fall as well. Very squirrely.
I will wait for further instructions, via bagged freezer items!
In this household we refrain from cannibalism in a clear and supportive manner
Lol. Is it drugs?

Also, this is why commas are so important.

Fall dog walks are the best. And Mimi the puppy mill mama rescue is experiencing her first outdoor autumn! 🧡

I’m really loving it, honestly. It’s so vivid and alive you can’t even see the joins, if you know what I mean. The necessary clockwork of it just vanishes. Incredible.
I would really like to give a prize to Kate Bush's parents, that is one loved and cherished daughter, to just be that free in public. I mean it.
reading Withering Heights for the first time since Junior High, and: Pretty spicy! that's one close set of siblings!

also I have had Kate Bush going through my head the whole time.

Crazy that anyone, in the history of time, has ever been this unselfconscious.

A terrific AFP fact check uses reverse image searches to expose how a White House video took scenes from Florida, Texas, South Carolina and Nebraska and lied that they showed "Chicago is in chaos."

otoh, he looks EXACTLY like a wanna be teacher's pet kiss-ass, and so we can be happy that God rendered him obviously dangerous, like the way a rattlesnake is equpped with the obvious warning of the rattle.
one could argue that the climax could be strengthened by putting it in the present, and not off screen, as it were, but on the other hand, one could argue that it's simply perfect, and that the sense of the hero's internal dislocation and loss is emphasized by things happening to him, distantly.
The third act is rue, woe, regret, and ruin. He is Oedipus/King Lear of the London new wave pubs of the late 1970s:
And so it's my assumption/I'm really up the junction."

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk, etc.
The second act sees our tragic hero enjoying his Paradise, from which he will be ejected. It reaches a blissful summit with: "She looked just like her mother/If there could be another" But then, smash! Gone! Second act cliffhanger wreck: "And now she's two years older/Her mother's with a soldier."
For the rest of the first act, it's domestic bliss: Railway arms we're missing... love had got us hooked up... I got a job with Stanley. But then! First act climax brings profound change. He left the house for 11 hours, "she said she'd seen a doctor/and nothing now could stop her"
I hereby declare that Squeeze's Up the Junction is a perfect formally constructed miniature tragedy in three acts. It starts with precise scene-setting 'I never thought it would happen/with me and the girl from Clapham..."

thank you Dan, you're very kind. There are also a lot of tables at Dario, Small Hours, and Oro... this is a pretty magical food town, I do say!
when I started this little experiment in sending a weekly letter to my internet friends, I had no idea I'd be documenting my own ever unwilling, ever increasing exposure to other people's guns. it's honestly shocking, cumulatively.
