What I'm not sure about is why this is so stark... is it that they really did try to overcompensate toward conservatives? Or is it a "generational thing"? Maybe it's a bit of both.

This is super evident with Real Estate Investor Mike, with his constant negging, pickup-artist-esque mind games, and unwillingness to cry. Others in the cast talk way more about praying than in previous seasons of #LoveIsBlind. 4/5

So for this season of #LoveIsBlind, the producers/The Lacheys overcorrected and booked a bunch of young conservatives who are so far up the Right Wing pipeline that they have no idea how to talk to women. 3/5

My head cannon is: conservatives complained that Season 8 of #LoveIsBlind was too woke because Sara didn't want to stick with Ben due to his "traditional religious views on LGBTQ+". You can find #BenShapiro screeching about it. I'm not going to link it. 2/5

Anyway, I can see a scenario where the Saudis use the liberal themes to sell games (esp mictotransation-laden games) to liberals, then use that money for illiberal/authoritarian/conservative reasons.

There's a history of businesses with "liberal" public images giving money or otherwise supporting conservative institutions/candidates. Urban Outfitters comes to mind.
