Want to take a minute to wrap up my thoughts about Meiko Kaji (梶芽衣子) being at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles last week.

Meiko did 3 Q&A sessions and 5 of her movies were screened across 3 nights, October 2, 3 and 4.

MOVIE #10 - Michael J. Murphy's musical horror psychological thriller TORMENT (1990), a film that should be considered a gem, but has kind of gotten lost in the shuffle.

MOVIE #7 (*cough*It'saTVminiseries*cough) This is my favourite discovery of the year - I AM DEAD (2023) is like ENTER THE VOID, but as a ghost comedy made in Japan with an early 2000s sheen. Very funny and deeply moving. You'll want to get a Mini-Disc player.
