Yeah, after defeating Boss 01 & getting the "Demo End" screen, the boss stays dead on reload, so I could explore more, get the Thorn Crown, & get up to the Wastelands. Then there's the Iron Maiden (warp spot?) and a screen transition that both bring up "Demo End" again.

It's one of those "royalty free" gotchas, unfortunately. You don't need to pay/license their music, but they WILL copyright claim it on YouTube.

BTW, breakable block in bottom left of 13_4 clips you into scenery in 12_4 if you slide through. Might just be a demo thing/blocking us off?

Teensy tiny note: the Arcade Kid music for the power flower is causing copyright claims for me on YT. Dunno if it’s a licensing thing or some other issue. I’ve worked around it but thought you should know! 👍🏼

I was terrible at the first one and cheated my way through it but had a great time making a map of the game. This seems to be a fun evolution… that I’m also terrible at! 🤣 Recommend if you like pixel art, retro combat — and if you despise capitalism and the heaving hoards of industrialisation!

I’ve seen people try and defend this by arguing that the healing now heals more per cast, and I suppose this is technically true as a heal now gives you two hits worth of health (1.5 actual hits). Doesn’t feel good progression wise, though.

Got to the ending of "Hell is Us" after 22.9 hours. INCREDIBLY dense game in terms of story/history. I actually felt overwhelmed by the end trying to summarise my thoughts on everything. Still more to do after the credits rolled, but gotta put it down for now to prepare for Silksong.

I’ve been enjoying it a lot, even if it’s hurt my brain a few times. It’s a very strange blend of genres but I like it. It’s got a lot of Resident Evil-style puzzles but also some third person melee combat and it feels like it shouldn’t work but it kinda does.

I am multiple pages of notes into “Hell is Us”. I don’t think I’ve written this much shit down for a game since “Tunic” and I’m STILL picking up things and thinking “damn, I remember seeing where I know that’s got to go but I don’t remember where it was…”

So much better on Switch 2 than 1, I hear. And they did add a Favourites function for the Echoes list, but still, it’s “kitchen sink” game design where clearly the devs didn’t know when to stop. (Which is ironically what I thought about TotK/BotW as well.
