I make just under 60k a year just by myself. If my spouse was still working they'd be at about 40k. 100k would get us settled somewhere for just a year. I don't think 100k is asking a lot when you're effectively a refugee resettling in another country

Honestly if I'm trying to flee the country in a hurry, 100k is the barest minimum I'd be trying to raise, and that's only if I'm trying to get to Phnom Penh or somewhere else I can live relatively well for relatively cheap.
