Small, thoughtful donations — or even a few dollars — can go a long way.

Food banks appreciate shelf-stable, nutritious, or ready-to-eat items, and every act of kindness helps people feel seen and supported. 💙
🍽️ Think about how you’d build a meal:

Breakfast: cereal or granola with milk

Lunch: peanut butter & jelly sandwich

Dinner: pasta and pasta sauce

Simple, complete foods help people stretch meals through the week.👇
🎄 Holiday treats

Donating cookies or baked goods can make the holidays brighter.

Or give mixes (cake, cookie, brownie, muffin, cornbread) plus the basics they need — milk, butter, eggs, or oil.👇
🍎 Snack foods for littles and bigs

Pretzels, graham crackers, baby carrots, apples, bananas, popcorn, meat sticks, cheese sticks, yogurt, applesauce, granola bars, and crackers.

Healthy, filling, and easy to eat anywhere.👇
🍝 Boxed meal kits

Full kits like Banquet Homestyle Bakes, Velveeta Shells & Cheese, or store brand versions are super helpful.

Walmart and similar stores have ready-to-eat meal kits (tuna, crackers, etc.) — great for folks without full kitchens.👇
🥩 Canned meat and canned hash

Tuna, chicken breast, beef, or hash can be used in many recipes.
Protein is one of the hardest things to get enough of through food banks — these make a big difference.👇
💵 First — cash goes the furthest. Food banks can stretch money farther by buying in bulk and working with wholesalers.

If you can, cash donations help them get exactly what’s needed most.

But if you prefer donating tangible items, here’s what to keep in mind 👇
As a disabled person on SNAP who’s been homeless, I’d like to offer some insight for folks who’d like to donate products (instead of money) to your local food banks. 🥫

Here are some things that can really help 👇
You know how wealthy people can pay for the fugly ballroom? By paying their fair share of taxes.
It's time for states to withhold our federal taxes until the Republican congress gets their shit together and starts working for *all* the people. That means:

•Universal Healthcare
•Rent controls
•Disaster funding
•Higher wages
•Higher taxes on the wealthy

The list goes on.
Here's your reminder to not send money through banking apps to people on SNAP. It'll count as income and they'll lose their government benefits. Do things like:

•Send VISA or grocery gift cards
•Hand them cash
•Have them make an Amazon Fresh wishlist
•Take them shopping
•Donate cash to food banks
Call your Republican representatives and tell them to get back to work, make a deal with the democrats, and open the government back up. I don't know what your situation is, but the only thing that could effect those on SSDI at this time is SNAP.
Don't let the door hit ya...
That is just so disappointing.
As a disabled person on SNAP I just want to tell my representatives to hold strong to your convictions. I don't want to see my fellow Americans losing their healthcare. This isn't your fault, this is wholly on the Republicans who have thrown this country in the garbage disposal. I'll be fine.

Let’s talk Project 2025. It’s not a theory...it’s a 900-page blueprint to remake the federal government. The tracker shows ~1/3 already done, another chunk “in progress,” and the rest waiting for activation. This isn’t a concept of a plan. It is the plan.

I found out my grandcat was out of treats and immediately ordered him some. As a cat grandma I feel it's my duty to keep my grandcat completely spoiled.
And just when Bill Burr was having a moment. Now he's back in the garbage can.

“awful people don’t deserve to be killed, but they don’t deserve to be praised, either” is apparently a thought too complex for the pundit mind
What's concerning is this is beyond going after a politician. This is the silencing of a political voice. When people are too afraid to speak their mind it leads us further into totalitarianism.
If I have the highest histamine levels my nationally renound allergist/immunologist office has ever seen does that mean I win a prize, and does that mean the prize is more histamine?
