I don't 'prefer' anything, except maybe a world where old fucking superstitions and tribalism go out the window.

That said, anti-semitism crops up like ragweed with distressing regularity through history, so I get why that group of people think that tiny spot of land is a good idea.

Fundamentally, this stuff gets back to one question; either Israel the state exists, or it not. Israel isn't going away, neither are the Palestinians. Therefore a 2SS, however unlikely, is the only answer I've got.

a ton of surrounding Arab/Muslim countries post 1947 (the Nakba wasn't just one direction) ... to me, it doesn't sound horribly unreasonable.

That said, there should be a 2SS. If Israel insists on controlling all that land, instead, then they need to accept it's no longer a Jewish majority state.

It does work, i.e. Israel is there.
I get the argument that true democratic equality is incompatible w/a RoR for Jews, but as noted, there are arbitrary rules for immigration everywhere.
One Jewish state for ppl who historically have been persecuted and driven out of Spain, Germany not to mention

A thing that gets ignored is that the logic -at least to Jews!- of the State of Israel was always to have a place where Jews can go. Looking at Millennia of pogroms, etc; not just the Holocaust.

People who didn't grow up w/grandparents who had numbers on their arms, probably aren't gonna get that.

Unfortunately if past history is any indication, when (if) we ever have elections that put us back in power, we'll immediately do a 'get along to go along, all is forgiven' attitude. Then we'll dick around with whatever majority we have, doing the bare minimum, until we lose it again.
