One of the great things about this site is that it allows you to avoid the worst parts of "Twitter" circa 2024 but that sometimes comes at the price of having to deal with the worst parts of twitter circa 2014

A thing that gets ignored is that the logic -at least to Jews!- of the State of Israel was always to have a place where Jews can go. Looking at Millennia of pogroms, etc; not just the Holocaust.

People who didn't grow up w/grandparents who had numbers on their arms, probably aren't gonna get that.

Unfortunately if past history is any indication, when (if) we ever have elections that put us back in power, we'll immediately do a 'get along to go along, all is forgiven' attitude. Then we'll dick around with whatever majority we have, doing the bare minimum, until we lose it again.

The other thing- and I agree, I've seen a lot of utility, increased productivity, etc- is that at least to my limited understanding, no one is paying for the true cost for the thing. It's subsidized by mind-boggling amts of $, expecting it to become skynet.

Don't think status quo is maintainable.

Maybe what I'm trying to say is, a lot of people didn't vote for Harris who really should have, but the slice of that pie chart that includes huge John Bolton fans is probably fairly small.
