I read Jaws after the movie came out where I learned that not all movie adaptations should be faithful to the book. Mrs. Brody had an affair with Matt Hooper. Their coupling was so badly written I howled with laughter. I guess for the 70s it was titillating.

I had to stop at the grocery store late this afternoon. Behind me was a woman with 2 school aged children. The older, a boy about 10, said hi to me, so I said hi back. We had a brief chat about summer being half over then he helped put my groceries in the bags. The kids are alright.

Yes, Niagara Falls is a little cringe with its souvenir shops and the street of attractions reminds me of a midway on steroids but the falls themselves are impressive. Check this off my bucket list.

My Welsh uncle died from his injuries after being hit by runaway carts in a coal mine. The website I found with that information www.welshcoalmines.co.uk had an extensive memorial list of miners and how they died, from the 1830s to 1999. No wonder my father refused to join the profession.

My mother was the first woman manager of a KFC outlet in Canada in the early 1960s. When the company held its yearly manager’s meeting he always greeted her by name & complimented her efforts. I met him in 1968 (I think?) when he visited Edmonton. I remember his kindness more than anything.
