Summary:

The water sprite sways closer to Frenchie. “You fell in me. You’re covered in me. It’s enough.”

“Enough for what?” Frenchie leans back, his eyes darting all over the sprite and over to Roach. He keeps his head lifted, trying not to show how nervous he is.

“To turn you into a monster over the next day and night. Enough time for you to fetch your friend. Enough time to repay me.” The sprite sways over to Roach. “If the payment is fair, I will undo my curse on your friend.”

Roach takes Frenchie out for a spa day like he did with Fang, but whoops! The water sprite of the stream they visit is still annoyed at their lack of gratitude. Roach and Frenchie better bring back Fang and make amends, or Frenchie is stuck with his curse forever...

Can, as an early user, unfortunately confirm 😅. I have a handful of mutuals on DW, but if they don't comment on my posts, why bother posting?

I do find it useful as a personal, private diary, but obv that isn't the main purpose of DW.

When Pete started pulling his shirt ovet his head, Lucius smiled at Izzy and decided that maybe the seaside wasn't all bad.

Sure, the man was glowering up at Lucius, but he was attractive with a broad chest and muscular arms and greying hair.

Lucius smiled. "I suppose you're the expert," he murmured.

"Izzy?" Pete gestured at his shirt. "Can I get cleaned up?"

Izzy eyed him, then Lucius's ice cream. "Fine."

Lucius sighed at the man's grumpiness. "This one was definitely unusually aggressive."

The man snorted as Lucius and Pete passed him. "All seagulls are unusually aggressive."

They were in the restaurant now, light coming through the windows. Lucius turned to look at the grumpy man. Oh, *hello*.

The guy down the hall sighed. "Fucking seagulls," he grumbled. "Fine, you can come in even though we're not open yet."

"Thank you!" Lucius walked over, still holding the sad remains of his ice cream. "Are seagull attacks common around here?"

"It's seaside, what do you think?" the man replied

Pete grinned at Lucius. "Exactly! I'm a very responsible and reliable guy like that."

Lucius smiles despite himself. Responsible wasn't how he'd describe Pete, but he seemed to mean well. "There was a seagull," he explained. "It came for my icecream and Pete came to my rescue."

"He dragged me in here!" Lucius yelled back.

"The sign says Employees Only, can't you read?"

"Uh, it's me?" Pete sounded insulted. "I work here!"

The man in the open doorway stayed silent for a long moment. "I asked you to watch the place for five minutes last week so I could grab Edward."

"How come you don't know where the light switch is, then?!"

Before Pete could answer that very important question, a door down the hallway opened, sending some light their way.

"What are you twats doing here?"

When a hand grabbed his wrist, Lucius couldn't help it.

He screamed and flailed at whoever grabbed him. The squelch of ice cream against a body along with a yelp from Pete made him pause. "Pete?"

"Yeah! Who else?"

"I don't know!" Lucius insisted. "You dragged me into this creepy hallway!"

"No!" Pete frowned at him, then stopped at a door that said EMPLOYEES ONLY. "In here."

Lucius followed him in. They ended up in a dark hallway, and the door fell shut behind him, pitching them into darkness.

A bald man with a kind face looked back. Then the seagull squawked again, and his face turned annoyed. "You want my help?"

"Please," Lucius replied, and the bald man grabbed him by the elbow and dragged him down an alley. "Um."

"I'm Pete!" the guy said. "Sorry about the seagull."
