The outside gearing of the range finder mechanism is neat!
The country spans two time zones, so they just average them.
The worst is China which spans seven time zones, but officially at least, the entire country is on Beijing time!
Finally, I think there is a 15 minute offset in Australia.
This is one project I could really get stuck into, but I have too many projects as it is (and also a day job)…
The next step is to mill out the corners, to make clearance for the parts on which this will hinge. I promise it will make sense once I put it all together!
By comparing data from multiple radios, it might possible to figure it out…
It works on Firefox running on Linux but not on whatever built-in browser bsky uses on iPhone and neither on Chrome on the same iPhone (launched from the bsky browser). I don't think I have any blocking/filtering extensions active.
Shouldn't the electric loco be mischievous and sneak up on the other locos on the account of being very quiet, then blow its horn? Others could make fun of it / be ableist for not being able to run on tracks without overhead wires...

My first reaction was to wonder why one needs an account to use a screen saver...
And yes, I realize I'm showing my age!
The wheels are not turning, so maybe it's just sliding on ice!
The Lincoln Continental we have at home...
Or at least 99% of it...
I just saw one as well. I think some local delivery company must have just got some because I’ve been seeing them fairly regularly lately.
Based only on this photo, I would be hard pressed to decide which way the third escalator should run.
The quote from one ex-employee says it all: "Oracle doesn't have customers, it has prisoners".
I wonder what would happen to GGLS (the club that runs the 7.5” and smaller gauge tracks at the same location) if the Redwood Valley Railroad would move out.
The excuse I heard when these were introduced in California was that cities could install them on State highways with minimal fuss because they are not considered full three color lights and those are run by the state. As with many things in the US, the situation might be different in other states.
I liked this post because it’s less effort than reposting…
