Ok, so you saw some of that first hand... It's shocking to learn some of the details, to see how newspapers were targeted!

But the film also offers some hope! Great stuff about The Baltimore Banner and other independent journalists who are trying to get new paradigms up and running.

I wrote a little about some of the little details you might have missed in this video and why it hit me so hard as a trans person this morning:

Some films need to be seen with an audience in a theater, others not so much. There were some great Q&As at screenings of this, but other than that I think it’s a film that totally works on whatever screen you have handy.

The story is really eye-opening, & it also has some hope for the future.

If you think you know why US newspapers died, this feature documentary now streaming for free on PBS might surprise you. It wasn't the Internet. Newspapers were specifically targeted by vulture capitalists.

I composed the score for the film, which features electric cello & Crowfoot guitars.

Good morning from Harlem

#GoodMorningFromHarlem
Looking through an arched window and hour after sunrise the blue sky is filled with complex layers of gray and white storm clouds. Across the middle of the sky is a band of backlit yellow clouds. Pointed roofs of Harlem brownstones are silhouetted across the street, and a taller apartment building can be seen in the distance. The tops of two trees are on the bottom and right.

Related: my daughter and me in 2009.
A white guy with glasses bundled up in black clothes smiling and looking at the camera, with a young toddler bundled up in pink sitting on his shoulders, looking pensive. The man is holding a sign that says in large white block capitals on a black background "ARREST BUSH"

I was really happy that there was a baby in my group of protesters at the last no King's Day. But then I told the baby's mom about how I was trampled by horses in Grosvenor Square at the anti-Vietnam war protest in 1967 when I was 4 years old and she did not find the story comforting.

So if I take my baby to a No Kings protest does she also get paid, or is it like an adults only deal with Soros
