I like it.

I'd say it's a little more political, a little slower as well. And sometimes, given the topic, it's a mix bag of feelings: relief comes with grief, hope comes with dread. The revolution is imperfect, and a lot of things hit very close to home.
I've been reading "Heavenly Tyrant" for the past few days (most of the month of October at this point). Most people said it's different from the first book, and I would agree. While the first book is about revenge, this one is about the consequences of said revenge.

Me, reading anything Liu Che does in Heavenly Tyrant:

with all the allegations about him? oofa doofa, i don't think so
At first, I was side-eyeing this book a little with how one of the main side characters was a cop and all. But yeah no, this book is rather high on the ACAB spectrum lol.

I miss the good old time of baked-in advertisements in podcasts. Now you dld a few ep, spawning ~2-3 months of content, yet you get the same 2-3 ads with the same annoying bits for weeks. It's driving me insane.

Oh my god, just rent "Hocus Pocus" like a normal person
I'm sorry: "if I wish to see a virgin on-screen"?
We don't have radical leftists like we used to 😢
As a comics connoisseur, @lokified.bsky.social, am I good starting randomly with reading those? lol

(also hey, english language? it's connaisseur... oi makes no sense)
Final few months of the year, I still have 3 beefy books to read until 2026. But since we're just in the first few days of the month, I decided to be kind to myself and read some manga, comics and graphic novels.
So I'm starting The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, my first Alan Moore.

Sometimes I'm like "how can you watch Drawfee vida and not subscribe?". And then I'll be seeing Smosh content casually and understand.
Maybe hubris + idiocy is the enemy of my enemy

Maybe we give the birds a shot at running the internet, to see if it makes things better.
Pet parrots which typically live alone (whilst those in the wild live in large flocks) were given the technology to call each other. They would use it for up to three hours a day, and developed favourite friends 💔

I'm going to read the anthology of short stories next year to close the chapter on this series. The graphic novels at some point one day as well
And then, since I had my "summer" vacation, I've started Winter, from the #LunarChronicles. It was a little hard to get back into this universe at first, but now I'm fully locked in. It's even a little too tense for before-bed-reading, so I'm having a hard time with my sleep schedule 😆

After a good Renée Ballard/Bosch book in audio, I decided to check out Most Ardently (from the Remixed Classics collection). It's GREAT. Mind you, I love Pride & Prejudice, but the way it's retold is brilliant. I'm almost done with it. The narrator is also very good.

I've been having a bad August reading month + recent audiobook slump, but things are getting immensely better now.

Finished the first volume of The Twelve Kingdoms about a week ago or so, and I really enjoyed it. Looking forward to continuing the series

this is so drawfee coded
I wish the people in the US could live without the constant threat of gun violence. That includes everyone, even if their legacy sucks ass. That's the issue I'm concerned about

Otherwise, I can recognize someone's death can be a source of relief for a lot of people and not be an hypocrite about it
Death isn't sacred to the point it erases someone's legacy. There may not be heaven or hell, but there's the impact you had on the people around you, and that's something you have to die with.

Rest in piss

Victims don't owe you respectability or "politeness". Neither do the people who cares for them, or the people who recognize said harm even if they don't know the victims personaly.
