No joke, i picked the build for my first linux PC to be "like Steam D*ck, but slightly better", just so i could comfortably use compatibility notes on Steam and ProtonDB to know what's gonna run smoothly.

Valve enabled me to finally change my main OS.

Epson printers on the other hand...

And the Steam Deck is sort of a crazy linux-word-spreader, casually proving that actually Linux is sorta ready now. Nothing like that's ever happened before. And at the same time they're actively making Windows way worse because they think they have you locked in, still

And their answer to "gamers actually playing on linux now because of Steam Deck" is to release a device that loses* in performance to Switch. Not Switch Two - just a regular old Switch :| :| :|

(* at least according to that one article from The Verge)

It's the same company that kept their Windows line for regular users separate from NT line for companies for one version too long. It's thanks to people pirating 2000 instead of using ME, that we got XP next.

And they still haven't learned the lesson that people can pick up a different OS.

Only by accident while learning controls and trying to butt-stomp that bee. No other way.

More pros:
Chestnuts and acorns everywhere.
Some great late apples in that season.
Color palette is neat.
Coffee tastes better than in summer.

Cons:
It's getting darker and colder.
Worse air during cold days in cities where people still burn coal for heating :| :| :|

Congrats on finding it!

It's not hot. It's not too dark yet. And when leaves are crunchy - that hits the spot!

i hate this meme because when i first saw it i giggled and now i live a life where operating system recommendations are among my most frequent topics of conversation both professionally and sometimes personally
How likely are you to recommend Windows 10 to a friend or colleague?
• 1
Not at all likely
02
O 3
0 4
O 5
Extremely likely
Please explain why you gave this score.
I need you to understand that people don't have conversations where they randomly recommend operating systems to one another

I wanted to play it because:
1) Legends Arceus was really good
2) Chikorita!

Introduced in the same year as Game Boy Advance - several months after it, in fact. So the association to the cool new handheld console was favorable.

And i loved it! But controls for its games were mapped weirdly, from what i remember.
It was the red one, so of course i called it a brickphone.

I know, i've seen people using it. And i have my own experiences with Pokemon Soul Silver and Pokewalker. Wiggle either just a bit and i have to retry the connection from the start :T

PDAs though, i considered to be extremely cool devices completely out of my reach when they were still a thing.

Completely missed that part of phones evolution. Had Nokia 5510 with its full keyboard and 64MB mp3 player (otherwise it was nigh literally a 3330 hidden inside of a bigger phone) too early for irda, then moved to 5800 which was too late for irda.
No regrets though, i love all my past phones 💜

Hah! My bro had some model of Ericsson as well. I liked borrowing it and checking out some turn based tactics game he had installed on it!
ecter.bsky.social
Oh, that's the best part. I worked on online text rpg where i met most of my friends at the time. There was a public chat and DMs in it and that's what i was using. The game is gone now, and has been for years.

And the phone was Nokia 5800, which i used for 8 years.

Aaah! RSS in a pocket! That rocks!

Still remember fondly how the crappy web browser on Symbian phone let me just chat online from a phone without having to use sms. That was a massive leap for me, even without wifi.

That's the problem with collections :T
They're all losing their individuality at some point.

It really works. I love it! 🖤🤍
