And even now when we pretend this longstanding policy is considered “bad”, do we penalize the American citizens who HIRE undocumented workers?
No.
We assault the powerless workers in the street.
And drag them off.
Treat them like animals.
As a political punching bag.
That’s our “thank you” to them.

Childcare.
Elder care.
Food production and delivery.
Housing production.
Landscaping.
None of these industries would exist as they do without a large undocumented workforce.
working for wages that American citizens consider too low.
And this has all been allowed for decades.
Tacit approval.
