#UNC faculty should know that we had no involvement in the selection of any of these individuals except Lewis Black.

Historically we have, but the Bd of Trustees recently ended the involvement of the faculty's elected Awards Committee.

Anyone serious about looking into this should also be asking about these governing bodies' LAWYERS. Are they advising their clients that these practices are lawful? It has gone on so long that the lawyers must either be saying this is OK or turning a blind eye to protracted defiance of their advice.

I was on UNC's Faculty Executive Committee during the controversies over the Confederate statue & the university's COVID-19 response.

NEVER ONCE was ANY proposed action or policy debated in open session.

This is standard operating procedure.
