TK has it (very small) on their website, but of course I can't find it now – I seem to remember it only counts if you never use it at all.

but of course there's always the bonus programmes for things like vaccinations, and those rebates are more valuable anyway

Many insurance companies actually give you money back if you never use their services. You have to apply, obvs.

But I get lots more out of mine than I pay in, and even found an Apotheke which doesn't charge me full price for Rezepte!

Polizei Dusseldorf wrote on their FB page about issuing a 30€ fine to someone for not wearing a seatbelt. Hardly seems worth it for such a small amount, and pretty sure it wouldn't dissuade someone from doing it again.

I email my clinic every 3 months along with a confirmation from TK that I'm a member, and they upload the prescription. It's a stupid system designed by the type of German who precedes every decision with "oh, but if..?"

to avoid confusion with meat and dairy products, a new EU rule says the product names must contain a capital letter, a lower case letter, at least two special characters and not be the same as any other product in the shop. The name must be updated every 4 weeks and can't be the same as before!

I read an article about the enshittification of Amazon search, and today needed to find a very specific product. It was almost impossible to find what I wanted; I gave up and asked Claude AI to search for me.

Ironically, Amazon seems to be the only company NOT to force unwanted AI on us!
