I think about the great nuclear post-apocalyptic book “Alas Babylon.” After the bomb drops, the town librarian rises in status as the keeper of knowledge. In contrast, the bank president offs himself when he realizes money no longer has any value.

With all the discussion of Tim Curry ‘s long career, I want to make sure that we include one of his under-appreciated roles: Charlene’s snooty fur coat on Dinosaurs.
Screenshot of Dinosaurs episode “Slave to Fashion.” A black and white, furry mammal Muppet with blue eyes and a long snout. Screenshot of Dinosaurs episode “Slave to Fashion.” Charlene, a big green Dinosaur, is wearing the black and white, furry mammal Muppet as part of a fur coat.

A sampler box of coffee K-cups with autumn flavors. The flavors include Cinnamon Bun, Salted Caramel, Chocolate Swirl, and Maple Bacon. The Maple Bacon cup has a drawing of bacon strips on it.

Loved this book so much. I remember bringing it to overnight camp. I had a camp counselor that year from South Africa who was a Simpsons fan. At that time South Africa had only gotten to season 3, so he was super excited to look through it.

Post a fictional comedian who definitely would accept an invitation to the Riyadh Comedy Festival.

Age yourself with a movie you saw in theaters as a kid.

First film I remember seeing in a theater. I was scared because of the trailers showing Rick Moranis about to eat his children in the cereal. So I cried and screamed until my aunt took me home. I still don’t know how the movie ended.

Lady behind me at The Thing screening last night to her partner "why are they shooting at the dog?" and her partner says very firmly "have you never seen a film before? You watch it and information is revealed"

Probably easiest to assume that all British actors are transphobes unless they say otherwise.

And I know they forget people every year, but leaving off Jonathan Joss really stung. An LGBTQ indigenous actor being forgotten in a night where the producers were obviously trying to court conservatives and not piss off 45.

I also hated how they did the In Memoriam montage. Too much focus on the country singers. Just a still image of the deceased with washed out color that somehow looked more ghoulish than black & white. No clips, or even still photos of that person’s notable works!
