Chet gave us quite the scare yesterday. 6 hours at the emergency vet for a puncture in his throat…a lovely fall walk went sideways fast. He’s okay now, but, wow. Feeling grateful. The emergency vet is a rough place & the night didn’t end well for all families there. Hug your babies tonight!

Wow, @jennystalter.bsky.social, amazing story! That ending is so brutal and so good!

I love this story by @iamchrisscott.bsky.social so much! The narrator's fear and desperation is so real.

Sarah is hiking up ahead of me, so she’s the first to see it. She goes around the bend, says “Hey now,” and stops in her tracks. Then I see it, too. Right there in the middle of the trail is a sing…

I’m SUPREMELY proud to be in this anthology of award-winning flash stories - which is also raising money for people facing fuel poverty this winter. The sheer calibre of the writers I’m with is humbling. So if you want to read the best of flash fiction (and me) buy this jam-packed bargain of a book.

Who’s open for flash subs? Have some stories to send out, but not sure where. Thanks!

I love this story, Kathy—I love how you use the continuous present tense throughout—perfect for the narrator and how stuck she seems. You are so good!!!

I love this story by @amygcb.bsky.social! So much whimsy and sadness—the way the community allows Mary Ellen to grieve! So good. 🩷
