States need to decide in advance, how they're going to react when federal forces try stuff like blocking the roads around a polling place with "immigration checkpoints".

These people *don't care* that they'll lose a lawsuit (paid for by the taxpayer) if they can irreversibly taint the election.
Mark my words, in the next 20 years we will have some kind of pictorial equivalent of /s.

If we don't, it'll be from some massive and unexpected outbreak of sanity.
I think you might be talking past one-another in terms of:

1. "The CR will increase the premiums Americans pay *through inaction*."

2. "The subsidy cut occurred in another piece of legislation."
No, the effects are happening NOW, not January, because everybody has to plan over 3 months into the future, especially the companies which are offering plans during this open enrollment season.
While I sympathize, that would be a very bad idea.

Imagine how it would be abused by some sort of corrupt and possibly senile president, whose morally treasonous party controls enough of the legislature to block impeachment.

A corrupted DOJ would be ordered to use it against other candidates.
In terms of the popular media the LLM was trained on, the answer from the fever-dream-machine is kinda reasonable.

Not sure what would happen if you fed it a diet that overrepresented the Equilibrium movie's "gun-kata" fighting though.

The White House is asking people not to share pictures of the East Wing because it’s even worse today.

Over and over again, Trump proves he is the most corrupt American President in history.

He might as well set up a direct deposit at the U.S. Treasury.

He won't spend a cent to save families from their premiums tripling, but he wants taxpayers to pay HIM $230 million. Obscene.

An editorial cartoon from Pulitzer Prize-winning political satirist, Matt Wuerker. #Trump
The mockery of law and order doesn't come from the debt-ceiling shutdown, it comes from *all the damn crimes* they have chosen to ignore.
It should be the location of the "Don't let this shit happen again" museum.
I love watching *my* President desecrate our history and ruin our future, it makes me feel *special" in a way that I just can't get from anywhere else! /s
All else being equal, there is something better about a disaster where everyone can see it and agrees that it's terrible, as opposed to one that people refuse to see and shrug off.
On the other hand, I think we know exactly where the "Look at this shit never let it happen again" museum could go.
All the gashes he carves are in the model of his own backside, and filled with the same substance that the mainstream media refuses to name.
I don't think living through it is guaranteed, but I certainly hope it's not the alternative.
Sadly discontinued, so I can't link to the episode where the titular Doctor who is also a McNinja accidentally harms an astronaut trying to replace him with his time travel clone and being haunted by deadly supernatural astrospirits.

But if any of that was interesting:

Like the NASAghasts from The Adventures of Dr. Mcninja, except in the White House instead of the Kennedy Space Center...
If legislators are *already* unwilling to oppose Trump under the Republican banner, it's incredibly unlikely they would oppose Trump *and* switch parties too.

It's *even more* risk to their political careers for no extra benefit. At best, it's very wishful thinking.
A huge part of it is driven by the math of conducting votes with "first past the post" / plurality systems.

It sets up a vicious spoiler effect that pretty much guarantees two big parties. Everyone who feels un-represented should push for local and then state adoption of one of the better systems.
The men are armed, aren’t they?”

“Oh, yes. But we’ve kind of advised them not to shoot unarmed old ladies, sir."
Night Watch, by Terry Pratchett, seems apropos right now.
___

"They’re even putting old grannies up on the barricades, shouting down to the lads. Poor Sergeant Franklin, sir, his granny saw him and said that if he didn’t turn it up she’d tell everyone what he did when he was eleven, sir.”

It’s kind of wild that after seven million people were in the streets protesting, the president posted a hallucinated video of himself wearing a crown and shitting on Americans and then proceeded to start demolishing parts of the White House
That doesn't make sense.

R's switching who they caucus with doesn't magically protect them from right-wing media retribution.

Also, we had majority reps to launch an impeachment doesn't mean the Senate will convict by ⅔rds, we saw happen already, TWICE.
