Trump is going to continue to do everything in his power to try to incite violence somewhere. If Portland and Chicago don’t work, he’ll probably go to New York.

He’s looking for a reason to invoke the Insurrection Act.

I’ve been hearing the same thing from Republicans behind the scenes, but they’ve also been telling reporters that they’re going to put their foot down when Trump does ____ and then they promptly fold.

I’ll have to see it to believe it.

No clue. According to the timing, it appears to be a 6 month checkup for something.

I can tell you that it most certainly was not his second yearly physical, at least.

Lingering effects? I hear many of them are furious at even being called in for that bullshit, and several are seriously concerned by that rambling incoherent psychobabble from Trump.

It does, but Hegseth is claiming he misspoke. He issued a clarification that it will just be a joint training base (similar to how we do with Singapore and NATO nations) that’s fully under US control.

Not sure why he announced it as a literal Qatari air base, other than he’s a complete dunce.

We already found the line - he briefly wanted to raise taxes on millionaires and they told him absolutely fucking not.

Everything else appears to be fair game.

To be completely fair to him, he’s drunk - hard to be a good leader when you’re sloshed.

It’s even harder to be a good leader when you have absolutely no leadership qualities to speak of… so he’s double fucked.

Miller seethes when people make fun of him online, so I do think ridiculing him is impactful.

Better, though, would be to start calling him President Miller and telling folks he’s really in charge - that’ll drive Trump nuts.

Yes. I would expect lawsuits immediately. There are clear rules for RIFs, and this seemingly violates all of them.

Thank a federal worker, though - a good chunk of them are working without pay, even more of them are wondering if they’ll have to fight to even HAVE a job. Morale sucks right now.

I was pretty encouraged by Judge Perry telling Texas they can’t just send their state militia (national guard) wherever the fuck they want.

I’m also encouraged by that clown car indictment against James - Halligan didn’t even get her *state* right. Going to be embarrassing for DOJ.

I don’t just get a “sense” that there are meetings amongst the GOP. They all hype each other up behind the scenes (and leak to reporters about how they’re going to stand up to Trump), and then they fold like lawn chairs

I think if Vance takes over, he’s going to have a MUCH tougher time than Trump

They certainly should. I don’t know how much control they’ll have over actually doing it, but people need to be made aware of the potential conflict of interest for sure
