Trump and the DOE just canceled $8B in clean energy projects across 16 blue states. CA lost over $3.6B.

That means fewer jobs, higher bills, and dirtier air — all for a political theater.

These cuts are straight out of the Project 2025 playbook.

CA Republican Sen. Marie Alvarado-Gil says shutdowns hurt rural areas like hers most: “Partisan tug-of-wars in D.C. may make great TV, but they leave rural communities, who rely on federal funding, in a lurch.”

SB 42, a bill to end the ban on public financing of elections was signed into law by @governor.ca.gov! This is MAJOR for getting dark money out of politics.

Thank you to @senatorumberg.bsky.social for leading on this critical democracy bill.

We cannot allow these abuses to stand. Tell Trump and his Republican allies to come to the table and negotiate a bipartisan solution that protects families and communities.
envirovoters.bsky.social
Families are losing access to critical protections they rely on—from healthcare and disaster relief to clean air and safe drinking water, along with clean energy jobs and affordable electricity.
envirovoters.bsky.social
This means taking away healthcare, cancelling disaster relief, gutting safeguards that keep our air and water safe, and cutting clean energy investments that protect jobs and lower electricity bills.
envirovoters.bsky.social
Since Trump took office, Republicans have already functionally shut down the government by firing the people and dismantling the protections families count on.
envirovoters.bsky.social
This government shutdown isn't an accident.

It's part of a larger pattern: Republicans control the White House, the Senate, and the House of Representatives — they own this shutdown.

@levin.house.gov: “We’ve got a Republican party held hostage by a would-be authoritarian and the weakest speaker in history. That’s why our environmental laws are at risk, that’s why our entire framework that will protect the environment and protect the American people is at risk."
Rep. Levin during virtual LCV press conference on the harmful impacts of Trump’s Government Shutdown
