Oil Spills are devastating for our oceans, its marine life and our own health. But nanomaterials may be a saving grace!

These tiny particles could help us clean up oil spills, soaking up oil without releasing toxic chemicals into the ocean themselves.

Nature taking care of invasive species pest control! 👏🙈
How exciting! This is great for the conservation of the species - the more individuals we are able to care for in zoos, the better able we are to make impactful change in the wild too!
This sounds great! Looking forward to seeing it and hearing more about the work!
Colossal really are doing wonders proving their concept for de-extinction! Amazing how by simply altering some genes of a similar, related modern species, we can “bring back” individuals with the same characteristics as an extinct species. They’ve created woolly mice in prep for woolly mammoths too!
Exciting news - further evidence of the proof of concept of Colossal’s work!
Possibly a very exciting revelation in ocean research reducing the risk posed to researchers in more remote and treacherous regions of the ocean!
Using a network of uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs) could improve understanding of the ocean-atmosphere boundary layer, leading to better weather forecasting, climate research, and marine ecosystem monitoring, according to research supported by Scripps Oceanography scientists.
Scientists Propose Network of Autonomous Vehicles to Observe Ocean Surface
A new paper from an international team of more than 50 researchers, including four from UC San Diego’s Scripps Institution of Oceanography, proposes the creation of a global observing network of auton...

The future of vehicles is electric, there are fantastic European electric cars available now - we need to be talking about how consumers are switching and how charging point infrastructure has improved - we need to keep talking about that because fossil fuel companies keep spreading misinformation
The future of the UK car industry must be electric — or it won’t have one.

Today, the prime minister has shown clear support for the 2030 phase out of highly polluting cars and vans, while also relaxing regulations in the #ZEVmandate.

Comment from @shaunspiers1.bsky.social, executive director:
With Monarch Butterfly populations seeing fewer numbers each year, this comes as great news!

The population of these pollinators have seen a rebound in Mexico thanks to recent #conservation efforts in the country. Find out more below!

This is just it - more public transport to reduce emissions is great, but to get people to use it the transport infrastructure and state needs to be greatly improved!
So colourful! How beautiful nature is!
Love this! Great way of using loopholes to boost protection of bees 🐝! Sorry, fish… 🐟
New paper alert! This study has found that making use of small, molecular heaters, we could improve crop yields!

Not only will this boost the amount of food we can produce to sustain our growing population, but it could mean we can use less land and space to do so, leaving more for #nature!
So sad - hopefully they have a better year in 2025, but to make that happen, true action needs to be taken! Not just at the individual and organisational level but in government and policy too
This is very exciting! Finland is now incredibly close to cutting out coal from its power system entirely, with the last coal-powered power plant shutting down in favour of renewable energy!

Go Finland! 🇫🇮🥳
