As someone who grew up in NorCal, I’m so used to it being hot and dry from May to September that I forget how HOT AND HUMID SoCal can be in the late Summer 😭 And we have no AC ☠️☠️☠️

I used to go to my Dad’s hometown summer matsuri all the time as a kid and since I recently helped out at my local Japanese American community’s matsuri, I’m missing it a little extra ❤️

and i just want to note that the cop here - john pike - received retirement, 8mos of suspended leave pay, and $38k for the pain and suffering of macing kids

the students received $6k-30k, most at the lower end

As a Davis Alumni, what’s even more frustrating is that the university and Katehi (Chancellor at the time) actually spent $175,000 for an outside company to try and erase any negative PR about the incident

ben & jerry’s stopped selling in the occupied palestinian territory a few years back and has ongoing beef with unilever (their manufacturer) over their israeli manufacturing and attempts to silence b&j’s statements on palestinian solidarity. they’re currently trying to buy back the company
