I am at a festival for a music scene that currently only has one bassist. The festival is in a hilly forest venue and he runs the trails between stages to get to every set, carrying his stand-up bass. People give him beers and snacks as he passes.

Anyway, I have an idea for a new Olympic sport.

It would make my mom verrrry happy for the Mariners to progress to the World Series.

But omg. I have so many Canadian friends.

& now I see that my dear friend @amanjo.bsky.social is super happy the Brewers are moving on.

I dunno who to be happy for! TODAY I'm going to be happy for everybody! lol

Fire! Fire!

Had my raku pottery class! My husband was awesome & took photos. I'm in the blue flannel over my overalls, putting the lids on the combustibles cans, which sounded like the least fiery job but was the most fiery!

A propane kiln outside on asphalt, open & being loaded with pottery

Closed propane kiln, coming up to temp. It looks like a stone & metal cage for a pet dragon.

Open kiln after firing. Some parts are still glowing red hot. Compared to the first photo, the glazes are dark & some are puffy & metallic

A group of people doing different tasks. One is putting a hot pot into a bucket with long tongs, once is throwing in wood shavings, one is placing towels over the buckets, one is ready to put the lid on the bucket that flames are coming out of, one person is watching & keeping us safe from burns

We'd get to take photos on the edge of the field, a full dinner with a snack bar & dessert bar that lasts all night.

Then in the 5th inning a guy comes in & pops you fresh popcorn & roasts hot dogs with you choice of toppings. They change out the mixed drinks to lager. BOXES of Cracker Jacks.

I've been to ONE Major League Baseball game & it was in the owners suite? With my dad? I think I've peaked.

Oh & a cocoa bar & s'mores when the game went into overtime.

I cheered both teams! lol "Good try, next time!" Such a mom.

Then they'd come with big souvenir bags of current merchandise & the photos from the field printed & framed in real wood frames.

I was given a sold out women's Ichiro jersey in my size, it was one of his record breaking streaks. And our free parking was right by the back VIP entrance (a BFD! lol)

I don't even do sports & I'M tense for the Mariners.

My mama turns 80 on Sunday & she'd be so tickled if they won.

My dad used to get to watch a game from the owner's suite every year. The Mariner's invite all the Little League admin plus a guest & they always took great care of us. Good memories.
