One thing to know about me as an indie game dev is I am actually bipolar, so if my game sometimes seems like it whipsaws around between a few loosely connected themes welp, that's just how it be sometimes.

I also have an issue with the part of the end of WW2 where we gave Poland away to Russia without letting them be involved in talks.

Poland had 20% of their whole population killed and then we gave their country away.

Note I don't actually advocate people work every single day.

I just know what works best for me for a large project, and what works best for me is routine and doing the same thing every day for a long period of time.

Also I like routine all the time so.

I'm really tired today. I worked for a couple hours on the game (the "simple" logic is almost done) because I have to work every day, but I think I'm going to take the rest of the day off from game dev and actually play some games.

I can't take a day off for momentum, but this is close enough.

The real issue is that ever since I got hypothyroidism and sleep apnea I got some of my energy back, but nowhere near where I used to be.

Well, I generally play games a ton at once, and if I don't finish in that initial burst, I usually don't finish.

Plus my game playing time has become game dev time now. Theoretically I have time to play games later, but I'm so tired then I can't focus on anything usually.

That could be the issue. I've barely finished a Pokemon game since I discovered Pokemon but you can fast forward the grind.

I did make some solid progress in X, Moon, and a couple romhacks, but no finishing.

I mean I never finish games so that's nothing new, but I drop off Pokemon faster than most.

I always want to play games in my genre but there really uh, aren't any. A handful that are like sub 6 hour games.

You know, I love Pokemon and have my entire life, but when I think about it I haven't actually FINISHED a Pokemon since Pearl.

The gameplay just kinda got stale for me a long time ago.

Interesting. I've never really been a demo player, but with the price of games now I'm becoming one.

Like, Digimon I want, but not for the price, so it was nice to be able to see what I was missing.

Metaphor I just don't know if I'll like.

I guess I'm just becoming cheap.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's true. But in my specific case, I don't know if I want to buy metaphor and it's nice to be able to try it.

Though I think this has probably changed since now every game you can watch the fill thing on YouTube to see what it's like now.

Though maybe more demos existed than I thought, and I would just default to console + physical before I had a Steam deck.
