Someone at CDot really decided the ideal time to shut down the I-25 S ramps was right when 20,000 people are exiting Ball Arena on opening night for the Avs.

Mackenzie Blackwood practiced with the team today but Bednar said they aren’t sure if he’ll go on the road trip next week.

Asked if a conditioning stint would be possible to get him games when he is healthy and he said that’s an option they do have.

“They were really good to me for 10 years, so only good thoughts about the fans,” Mikko Rantanen said…but he knows he probably won’t get a warm welcome tomorrow.

“Not a lot of Avs fans probably like the Stars, so I understand if they don’t like me. That’s how it goes.”

Scott Wedgewood bailed out the Avs in a big way tonight.

Ugly second from the Avs. Really ugly.

Ross Colton deserved that goal. He made a diving play in the defensive zone to break up a great chance about 20 seconds earlier.

Great play all around by the third line. Olofsson backhand sauce to Drury who sets it up for Colton.

1-0

Gabriel Landeskog’s first regular season game on Ball Arena ice since 3/5/2022 will be tonight.

(I think after tonight we’re done with these stats)

Avs with a convincing 4-1 on opening night. Wedgewood was real solid in net and the Avs were opportunistic with their chances.

Wonder why the Avs want Necas to shoot more?

4-0.

Cale Makar will hear from that man's UFC brother.

Fourth line for the Avs has been putting in the work tonight.

Sam Malinski from the left point sends a shot through a screen and it's 2-0 Avs. Kiviranta had a nice forecheck there.

Martin Necas makes it 1-0 off a great feed by Nathan MacKinnon. Incredible pass by Lehkonen in the NZ to spring MacKinnon in with speed.

Bardakov is indeed scratched.

Gavin Brindley confirms he’s in tonight.

Based off who is left on the ice, Bardakov and Ahcan could be scratches.
