Per Dreger, Wedgewood has now been added to Team Canada’s list for possible Olympic participation.

Scott Wedgewood for Team Canada at the Olympics?

“The truth of it is, you ask anybody in the summer, they’d laugh at you, right?” he said.

But his play has made it a real conversation, even if he hasn't heard from anyone at Team Canada...yet.

Scott Wedgewood ready if Team Canada calls Avalanche goalie for the Olympics: ‘I feel like I can help’
Scott Wedgewood has not heard from Team Canada about the Olympics, but he has heard about the growing “Wedgewood for Canada” movement online. He’s ready to step in if he gets the call. “I think (TNT a...

Per Jared Bednar, Kiviranta is good to go. Val is not on track for an immediate return.

Brindley and LOC are unknown timelines now.

Scott Wedgewood says he has not heard from Team Canada officials about the Olympics…but he’d love to.

“I feel like I can help. I can do what I do for this team.”

More later on it.

Landy joined practice about 10 minutes late so he’s here.
No Gabriel Landeskog at practice today.

Valeri Nichushkin is joining the team at least for the start of practice. Encouraging.

Joel Kiviranta in a regular 4th line jersey.

Scott Wedgewood and Mackenzie Blackwood combined to make franchise history this weekend.

The Avs goalie situation is in great shape, both on and off the ice.

“I feel good.”

Sam Malinski might be underselling it. 1st in EXGF%, 1st in GF%, and 1st in SCF% among all d-men that have played 200 minutes.

The experience of last season has the Avs (and Sam) confident he’ll avoid another mid-season dip in play.

Asked Scott Wedgewood if there's a friendly competition between he and Blackwood to match last night's shutout.

Looking right at Blackwood, he said...

"Yeah, I told him 'piss off' (laughs). I give up nine one-goal games, he comes out and gets a shutout and just laughs in my face."

A huge weekend for the Woodshed. Avalanche record back-to-back shutouts for a four point weekend.

Wedgewood was tremendous.

Avalanche lead 1-0 going into the third period after outshooting the Blackhawks 19-1 in the second.

Cale Makar scores the opening goal off a Spencer Knight mistake. Tristan Nielsen will pick up his first career assist.

1-0 Avs.
November 24, 2025 at 1:39 AM
The shots are 14-1 in favor of the Avalanche this period. It doesn't feel like Spencer Knight has been forced to make too many difficult saves, but Colorado is controlling the play...at 5-on-5.
November 24, 2025 at 1:34 AM
Well, they got a shot on goal that power play, so that's something, but still not great. Penalty call was a little iffy to begin with.
November 24, 2025 at 1:23 AM
The bar was set pretty low in the first period, but the Avalanche look a lot more like themselves in this second.
November 24, 2025 at 1:14 AM
On this weekend before Thanksgiving, the Avalanche are very thankful for their Wood.

Terrible first, but it's still 0-0.
November 24, 2025 at 12:44 AM
We are 15 minutes into the first and the Avs have one shot on goal. Tough opening periods this weekend.

“We needed that game as a team out of him because we were no good and in a way, I’m sure he probably needed one like that too,” Bednar said of Blackwood.
Easily the Avs sloppiest game of the season…and yet they walk away with a 3-0 win.

Mackenzie Blackwood saved their bacon. Maybe not the worst thing to happen.
