“Walmart was the top employer of SNAP recipients in five states and one of the top four employers in the remaining four states. McDonald’s was among the top five employers of Medicaid enrollees in five of six states and SNAP recipients in eight of nine states.”

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

Did you know that over 1.3M active duty service members and veterans rely on SNAP benefits to feed themselves and their families?

Now you know.
You left out the decimal point...there are 1.3 active duty military plus reservists and some others, but certainly not 13 million.
Yes, $100 is not much per person.

They're demonizing SNAP and other recipients of federal aid on right wing media.

Of 21 million federal aid beneficiaries, ~70% work full-time and 39% of SNAP beneficiaries are children. Critics need to ask Amazon and Walmart why they won't pay enough for their employees to survive w/o food stamps.

Welp—CDC’s entire data team for its legendary national health and nutrition survey (NHANES)—our health census—has been laid off. Now we are flying blind to nutrition and chronic disease status in the U.S.—is this supposed to help us be MAHA? www.statnews.com/2025/10/14/c...
CDC team running top survey on health and nutrition is laid off
NHANES has collected data on eating patterns, diabetes, and other common diseases for decades. The CDC team that runs it has been fired.

"Authoritarianism, it's a cancer. The symptoms are here, today... We thought it couldn't happen here... and now the disease is growing, metastasizing in America. But there is a cure—it requires you. On October 18, Americans will stand up, peacefully, for what makes America, America." nokings.org

We should mandate a work requirement for House Republicans to get their health care. How about they have to work at least one week a month to keep their government health insurance?
