Do you smoosh your face into freshly hanked yarn? It's okay if you do, I do. I'll also wind it into a hank, wiggle it at my partner and demand he smoosh it too. I love that he humours me. After the squish, he says something like "oh, that's really soft!"

Who's the enabler here, amirite? 🧐😅🤣🤣
Unlike handdyed yarn, dyeing wool in a repeatable fashion is more difficult because of how the wool wicks water and draws up dye, and how it takes longer for the acid to chemically alter the surface of the wool so the dye stays permanently. Shifting around hot wool in the dye pan is inadvisable.

Endless Dream. 2025. Acid dyes on Merino wool. Handdyed products are literally works of art. If I kept this recipe, which I haven't, it would be difficult to replicate this colourway precisely.
Yes! Expanding skills is challenging but rewarding ☺️
That's a good one! Always makes me laugh, too 😆
How pretty! Such wonderful finds ✨️🧶✨️🤩 Nice to chat with you yesterday
On a cool autumnal morning, all you want is beautiful accessories. This is the latest batch of yarns I've been remaking for the @cotswoldwoolweekend this weekend being held at the @cornhallmarketscirencester 😁
There's no room for far right extremism in the US and UK. Their "policies" are short sighted and destructive, only insulating the mega wealthy. There is insufficient space to convey my rage at Reform polling.

Do your homework, ask questions.
Anything before coffee is a win, but even more so when it is so interconnected! I might need to make some more blue batts and draw on these Greek myth sea themes 🧐🤓
Oh, that's a really good one! Why didn't I think of that? I've literally only played D&D for 21 years and BG3 for 750+ hours... 😅😂 I appear to have forgotten all my Greek mythology though 😭
I'm getting ready for the Cotswold Wool Weekend on October 4 & 5 in Cirencester! You can squish this #handspun in person, or buy it online at www.expertlydyed.com (it'll be listed this weekend) ☺️

Thanks for the name suggestions everyone!

💯 It's got that distinctly magical vibe for sure!
Yes! Especially the swirling fiber in the second image 🤔
Saturday spins are so relaxing. I give myself a luxurious 2 hour start to the day, complete with 2 cups of coffee.

My conundrum? WHAT DO I NAME THIS YARN?!😂😅 "Sea Breeze"? "Fairy Light"? Ideas appreciated 😊😬

Thank you! I also love my decision to ply the lighter yarn. I'll post an update when it's washed and dried 😊😉
I am preparing for some upcoming wool shows and realised I'm running low on handspun yarn! I love being a yarn designer 😊

Live premiere of the next video is upon us! Should you save wool with lots of vegetable matter? Tough question, not as simple to answer as you think:

Can I save my wool? Cutting out the vegetable matter with scissors!
YouTube video by ExpertlyDyed
youtu.be
It addresses the question "is it worth saving?", a common question asked when people first start working with while fleeces. Is it really a simple question and answer? I think not... 🤔 🧐
Now that I have your attention, there's a premiere for a new video set to air on my YouTube channel at 8p (UK) on Monday night. I mentioned cutting out vegetable matter from a fleece I bought back in April this year, but now I've sorted and washed that wool (and got around to editing the video) 😊
