So when I read from Meredith that (paraphrasing) "there's no other choice than hyperscalers", I think Signal may have made a mistake and they know they can't fix it anytime soon.

yep, I was tempted by the Pocket version but that's a bit expensive for a device I won't use much. On the other hand I bought Linux phones that are almost as expensive and way less usable...

It's going to be absolutely critical that we be able to hack on and trust the hardware we use. I think the hardware from MNT is the best bet we have for a computing future we still have a say in mnt.re

I hope the MNT Reform Next is going to make MNT's stuff more accessible to more people
