Protesters here for this morning's action are gathering off 25th now that Beach has been fenced off.

I mean, you should feel free to give it a name. In college, my (music performance major) friend had a tendency to name habits of singers after them. Like a "Sarah McLachlan note" is a sudden break to a higher octave in the middle of a sustained note. 😀

I mean, thinking of the chords in Vogue's chorus, that's not something that really has a name per se. Part of the sound is instrumentation: piano chords played staccato have a more traditionally jazzy feel. Could that be it?

Arpeggios, perhaps? That's when a chord is broken apart into ascending/descending notes. I would have to listen to each of these to see if that's a common thread, but it could be.

Also, if you do it really quick and on a harp, it's a glissando, and that's SUPER glam.

a crowd of protesters, some of whom showed up before 5 am, is heckling ice agents arriving to work.

a few minutes ago, special response team agents came out to push protesters away from the driveway. pepper balls already flying.
