We need to start fighting this on a much larger scale.
An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.

Also, this is part of why I see many of the more successful (-ish) indie designers emerge from communities where there is a trifecta of supportive players, influencers, and conventions. Overcoming inertia requires that support.

On some level, every RPG design is an argument for how things could be better. Few things motivate design like seeing another game and being inspired by what it could be, but is not.

"Loyalty" is not a positive trait. There is no situation where loyalty to someone or something is ethically better than carefully reasoned support that can be modified or withdrawn as needed.
On the other hand, there are plenty of situations where loyalty is used as a cudgel to avoid critique.
