The very fact that CC represented banks in repossession cases as a barrister should prove to Leddin that she would have no issue whatsover dealing professionally with legislation she has opposed in the past. This is quite obvious.

Join the dots, Brian. It's not that hard.

“Ms Connolly also flatly rejected the idea that if she were to be elected, former TDs and MEPs Clare Daly and Mick Wallace would be appointed to the Council of State.

"Certainly not," she said”

I had cause to interview him once, in a previous life. He spoke about himself in the third person for the entire conversation.

Sin é is dócha.

Sin soiléir ar aon nós:

GRMA a Aonghus. Is trua nach dúirt sí sin, ach glacaim leis.

Oh dear. I see CC had an interview on Virgin Media. Asked if she would put Mick Wallace or Clare Daly on the Council of State. Her answer; "this is ridiculous. I'm not going to speculate".

My only red line is concern that her presidency might be used by those two to rehabilitate their public image.

Facilitating genocide while sending in aid to survivors (the cheeky pests) is a net positive economically. I trust I can rely on your vote. Vote Von der Leyen, vote Fine Gael.

That picture above is from the book Striking Back: The Untold Story of an Anti-Apartheid Striker. It's written by Mary Manning with Sinéad O´Brien.

“Dunnes Funds Apartheid” — how little has changed. I brought the No Thanks app to Dunnes recently, just shopping for shampoo, shaving gel, deodorant. The whole aisle was tied to illegal Israeli settlements, and I left empty-handed. 40 years on, where are the unions and boycotts?

There is an interesting book that discusses attributes such as lack of remorse, manipulative charisma and a love of strategic aggression. It's by doctors Ronald Schouten and James Silver and it's called Almost a Psychopath.

Last Friday, in their hourly news, a national radio station didn't refer to the death of a cultural icon in Ireland.
The bulletins did say the actor who played Hyacinth Bucket, Patricia Routledge, had died.
Today, their news reports ended with a David Beckham quote.

I had / have concerns, but FFG reminded me of just how low they happily go. CC is clearly better than that. She is authentic. The commitments other's promise *if* elected are things she has been doing her whole life. So while I wasn't going to vote for either candidate, I will be voting for CC.

Heather Humphfries made her stance clear today. Don´t criticise allies. As simple as that - even when they're complicit in genocide. Also would not comment on the full OTB.

A status quo rubber stamper.

That's enough for me. Catherine Connolly it is.

I feel like most Irish and British writers who complain about being silenced have never done anything as brave as what Naoise has done here

Two Irish novelists have now done more to break the blockade and end man-made famine in Gaza than the entire UK government.
