the people who use AI are looking for the easy out. the no effort route. if someone is actually passionate about something, they WILL put effort in. they WILL develop skills to push that passion further.
I haven't even touched on the energy and water consumption of the data centers yet

it discourages them from being vocal, and maybe even from doing it at all. this ties back into the whole generating deepfakes thing, as well as the less activity these sites get, the less investors will be interested, the less money the company gets.

The furry community is also famously varied in its wealth, ranging from broke teenagers to wealthy, business-owning folks. The templates for recolouring are drawn by hand, by artists, as a low-cost way to get a ref sheet, or for design workshopping. People do this for the passion.

Using AI to generate images for commissions is reducing art to the same caliber as fast fashion. Pumping out low quality "art" for a quick buck just because it's the trend.

If you wholeheartedly believe using generative AI to make furry commissions, art that has famously been about self exression and showing off your skills as an artist, is a good thing, then you are so far gone I'm not sure you can make it back.

Generative AI is a tool used to push the fascist regime further by creating fake images and videos to support their narratives. It was designed to create pornographic videos of people who did not consent, and is now being used to create images to glorify ICE and the military response to protests.
