Hi, I’m bru. I write things. Some of those things were published long ago.

Due to chronic ill health I mostly write flash and poetry now. I’ve often been told I’m a cartoon character: I may in fact be a Muppet. Love music, art, books. 📚

I’m only really realizing how abnormal my mother was now that she’s been gone two years. That keeps me busy in therapy, I’ll tell you.

I especially loved Diane Keaton in Baby Boom. Such a sweet film. I remember seeing it as a teen with my mom at the theater, and she rarely went to movies. We both laughed and cried. An underrated film I think. Great romantic comedy.

Went shoe shopping today. It’s exhausting in every way. My husband helped or I’d have been hopeless.

I think I got what I needed🤞 Time will tell. Too bad I couldn’t wear any of the cute boots I tried on. It’s walking shoes for me only. I can’t even wear my beloved high top pink Chucks anymore 😑

Aye. As someone who has struggled (and sometimes still struggles) with mental health, I throw my love, respect, and support to all-a-y'all in the fight.

Through raising awareness, I hold out hope that we can lessen - and wipe out - the stigma surrounding mental health matters.

Today is World Mental Health Day.

Sending love to those who...

-are struggling mentally
-have no support system
-are scared to speak up
-are fighting suicidal thoughts
-are in therapy
-are in recovery

Yes! May those of us who can speak up be a voice for those who can’t. Maybe they’ll be able to join us one day.

Living with bipolar 1, OCD, and PTSD is a challenge every day but I keep fighting for the sake of those I love even when I don’t feel like fighting for myself.
