Absolutely. I actually make a point of keeping my partner (who's a politically active native) informed about the BS happening, mostly so that he can share it around. We've talked occasionally about maybe having me do a short speech about the situation too, to his groups. Maybe next year.

Honestly though, I mostly wish the news here would cover the horrors that ICE is committing. The latest news from Chicago, for instance, or the video of the delivery biker getting chased. It would probably help pull the rose glasses off for a lot of people.

Oh gods yeah that's so hard to convince. I've had a devil of a time explaining to Indian or Angolan/Cabo-verdiano folks that they really, really do not want to experience being working class in the US. Usually uber drivers.

From talking to the people who say this here in Portugal, a lot of it is that they really, really don't understand how bad things are in the US now. They still see the "American Dream" from movies and TV. And many of the POC that say it have _zero_ idea how bad it's always been.
