Back in the summer of 2023, after my cat died, I spent 2 weeks building a particle physics animation engine in Blender Geometry Nodes, entirely on intuition. I also built a system to record animations as curves so they can be played back dynamically.

What I noticed is that this kinda scary sounding feature that hardly anyone uses is basically exactly like the AI search every lazy dipshit uses in every program now, except it's accurate and doesn't need to burn down a small forest every time you use it.

The other day, I noticed this funny thing... a lot of super technical programs I use have this feature called a Command Palette, which it seems like few people use. It's a bar where you can type in the name of the command you want, and it'll execute it there and show you the hotkey.

I appear to be making screen toys for stoners.

There aren't a lot of options, but there are a few (aside from Blender w/ CAD addons). FreeCAD is really the leading contender, and recently revamped their interface. There's also OpenSCAD, if you're into doing CAD work by code.

I believe my enemies have been scammed. They built machines designed to con people, then they fell for the con. Now they're over invested in these machines, they've slashed their employee rosters, and they need those who remain to become multiple times more efficient.

The iron is hot.

I gotta find something to replace Marvel Rivals for my dopamine hits. That game is no good.

Thank you. That is often how my work is described.

Can't figure out why it's doing that. So weird. Solid glitching, tho. 😅
fideldestro.bsky.social
Built an alternate 10Print pattern using Godot's Label node, but after it fills up it starts causing the whole thing to glitch violently. Which.... is kinda cool, tbh.

She's a U.S. sponsored opposition candidate and the daughter of a steel oligarch. Machado champions the privatization of Venezuela's oil, power, and steel industries.

New York Times:

“Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado awarded Nobel Peace Prize for “her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela & for her struggle to achieve a just & peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”

In this new video, we do a beginner-friendly deep dive into the "double subdivision" method which is a very easy, fast and fun way of making 3D models. This is a longer version of a video I made about a year ago. Watch it here: youtu.be/YCd_tS_3BTU #blender #b3d #blender3d

Watching a video of a crab shed an old exoskeleton, and imagining an alien species of bug folks. A proud grandma at a dinner trotting out someone's first molt to show how big they've gotten. Gods they were small then.

They are, of course, deeply embarrassed.

Some people very genuinely despair that they can't focus on the things they want to accomplish, and the one thing they won't try is sitting down at whatever kind of workstation is required and focusing on the things they want to accomplish.
fideldestro.bsky.social
Instead, they'll just keep doomscrolling, because that's actually what these machines are for. And if they do try to do work on them, they'll find themselves at their desk, desperately trying to jerry-rig their tablet into a high price low power barely useful workstation.
fideldestro.bsky.social
Announcements of creative apps for tablet elicit oohs and ahhs. "Oh, I'll be able to do my work on the couch! Or while I'm out at the coffee shop or on the train."

But then people don't do those things. They're fantasizing about making work more relaxing, but it's still work.

I think touch interfaces are bad and devices that rely on them are fundamentally unserious. We were promised interfaces that were more natural and intuitive, and a decade later we have tons and tons of crappy apps with 3 huge buttons and only 2 features.

Saw a article about a new design for robot-tentacles, and needed to make a robot around it!

the researchers have a website about their tentacle design here www.spirob.com/home

Whilst testing, I noticed that the menus in the garage weren't the most user friendly.

Today I improved the colour customizer UI. I didn't make many changes, but I did make the colour picker a lot easier to use 🎨👨‍🎨🦆

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?
