Scarecrow Video Psychotronic Challenge!! #SCVpsychochallenge
Day 11: DYSTOPIAN FUTURE. After yesterday’s film, it turned out to be a Costner double feature. He’s featured a lot more in this one.

“Waterworld” (1995).

I’m watching this for a later category…

I really dug this one. Saw it years ago at the Castro theater and it really exceeded expectations. Would make a fun double feature with Volcano which also spends a lot of apocalyptic time at the site of the future Academy Museum.

Day 10: ESTIMATION…DECIMATION (nuclear war/fallout)

“Testament” (1983). More of a drama than pure psychotronic, but it had baby Coster and De Mornay! *Could* have been day 1 “Introducing..” for Lukas Haas

Well that sounds like a whacky premise. Was it fun?

Day 9: MASTER OF DISASTER (one by Irwin Allen)

“When Time Ran Out” (1980). It’s ridiculous, but I’m regretting my low rating bc Burgess Meredith, retired tightrope artist, saves children over a river of LAVA!

Day 8: HOLY WEDNESDAY (Christploitation)

“The Day of the Beast” (1995). Pretty fun!

The image must be pretty racy. Marked adult and not visible. ?

Nice. I *almost* went with this one. Looking forward to seeing it someday.

I would have accepted Tinto Brass :-)

Wow- was Chaney in ALL The 1925 movies?

Day 7: NOW THAT’S BRASS (one with metal)

“Tetsuo: The Iron Man” (1989). If you are still looking for a film with “little dialog” for 10/15, this will fit the bill for that too

Day 6: SQUEAKY REELS (one that came out in 1925)

“The Phantom of the Opera” (1925). First time seen. Wish I had seen this at the SF Silent Film Fest

That was mine too. Will be interesting to see how much overlap there is today. Likely pretty high I'd say, given the prompt.

Works for me. Love the sounds in this one!

Day 5: SHRIEKS & SQUEALS (sound that makes the hairs on your neck stand up)

“Under the Skin” (2013). 8th screening, first time on the small screen. Happy to revisit this sound design + amazing Mica Levi score

Day 4: MYTHICAL CREATURES

Did a double feature : “Sucker” (1998) - thanks Scarecrow Mystery Box for that low budget Troma flick - and “The Beach Girls and the Monster” (1965)
