I’m feeling really bummed out bc of the tiktok ban today. The community we built there helped me through some of my worst times and now it’s just gone. Bsky is all I’m using now, so I’m grateful for how supportive the trop/tolkien community is on here and I’m so happy to be a part of it ❤️

I’m american but I agree. It blows my mind that people who claim to be progressive don’t understand how fucked our system is or why everyone hates us (and they should tbh). Trying to convince other americans we aren’t this amazing country is so frustrating it makes me want to scream. It’s exhausting

When I first read the Silmarillion I couldn’t keep a lot of the house of Finwë names straight so I’d just refer to them as “fin…something” Fingon, Finrod, and Fingolfin ended up being my favs so I thought it was a fitting username 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was 5 when FotR came out, and I was just remembering that the first time I saw it, I got so overexcited reenacting a scene that I punched myself in the face and gave myself a bloody nose. Happy to say my enthusiasm for Tolkien hasn’t diminished even a little bit since then lol
