the fandom can dress it up all they want as a “soft epilogue” but the overall consensus that these two insane men need to be defined into the roles of husband and wife with a happy ending that coincidentally fits conservative propaganda w/ multiple bio children…it’s weird and should be questioned!!

Man I get it. I have also seen scenarios where people just reverse the trope where Jayce is the wife and Viktor is the husband and call it a day. Like why is there any need to even put those trad wife dynamics? Why can’t both of them be equal?? Why can’t both of them have jobs to make ends meet??

My very hot hot take is that season 1 was paced too quickly. Like people complain about season 2 for obvious reasons but season 1’s pace is really break neck too it’s just the storyline is shorter so it still works, albeit missing some important things here and there

Same lol. I also think Jayce being puppy coded was fine at first but then it slowly reduced to Jayce just being a dum dum who doesn’t know what his partner likes in bed. And this goes for any ship which includes Jayce

I SWEAR!!! what really gets me is that these people keep complaining about “many” dom Jayce or Top Jayce fics and fanarts crowding their timeline when in reality they are really less in number. Like where is the subby fem Viktor they are complaining about?

Bottom Jayce or even sub Jayce would have been more enjoyable if most of the fandom didn’t treat Jayce like a side piece of their fav. He is one of the main characters in Arcane and has his own storyline, which doesn’t revolve around any other character. Put some respect in his name. #jaycetalis

actually im gonna get even further into it because i adore that man-jayce is not the happy go lucky sunshine personality himbo people desperately want him to be. he is an arrogant, driven, ambitious genius who is naturally good at everything he does (and objectively gorgeous, which is really important to his character). his entire point is that he IS the ideal male archetype yet he still had to go against the grain and work for what he had because he was TOO progressive to the point where his own mother thought he was fucking crazy. he is much more sly than a lot of people give him credit for. he can make a convincing argument for his cause on the spot and he doesn't even need to draw from his natural passion to do it. jayce is not full of love, nor can he be described as the sun, because he's happy and well adjusted. it's because he fucking BURNS. his level of ambition is overwhelming, his ideas are insane, he was five seconds from being put in a goddamn straitjacket in that trial. WHY do you think mel and viktor were so attracted to him (and i dont just mean romantically). WHY do you think heimerdinger was always on his ass trying to stop him from progressing. JAYCE WANTED PROGRESS. HE WANTED TO CHANGE THE WORLD. he can ADAPT. he got onto the council when it was never his plan and IMMEDIATELY tried to make changes from the inside out. there is something so wonderfully rich about his characterisation so WHY does this fandom make him so fucking BORING??? jayce talis the depressed obsessive optimist who wanted to save the world in the same way he and his mama were saved when he was a boy, jayce talis the man who can't let his loved ones go because there is nothing he can't or won't fix, jayce talis who loves humanity and believes in it-jayce talis who doomed us all because of his blind, selfish need to make the world a better place. who put people's lives in his hands and ruined them. who grappled with the fact that his world is infinitely larger and more flawed than he could've ever imagined, yet still believed in it enough to sacrifice his life if it meant giving humanity a chance to start again and possibly be better. he is the embodiment of every kind of love. i'm not done btw. here you have a character who is the product of his environment whilst simultaneously pushing back against it in the only ways he knows how. you have a character who is HUNGRY. who is willing to die for his cause. who functions on a wavelength beyond 99.9% of the population. he is so gorgeously written and so perfectly flawed and it is SO upsetting to watch him be reduced to just some himbo or fascist or whatever stupid ass buzzword this fandom is gonna pull out of its crack tomorrow. i mean this with every fibre of my being when i say a lot of these people do not deserve him. you want more complex characters yet you can't even handle jayce talis.
