On #WorldMigratoryBirdDay, let’s make our urban spaces and communities bird-friendly.

As cities grow and natural habitats shrink, migratory birds are losing places they need to rest and feed.

Together we can create safe #SharedSpaces and help protect migratory birds: www.worldmigratorybirdday.org

Shout out to Swifts this #WorldMigratoryBirdDay!

These aerial acrobats have left our skies for winter, but fewer Swifts are returning to Scotland in spring each year.

As urban areas expand, natural habitats shrink—putting migratory birds at risk. For #WorldMigratoryBirdDay, UNEP Executive Director

@ingerandersen.bsky.social emphasizes the need for #SafeSpaces to protect these birds, which are essential to sustaining the planet’s biodiversity.
A stork stands on a large nest made of twigs against a blue sky. Text on the image reads: “This year, our focus is on creating bird friendly cities and communities so these birds can rest, refuel and breed. Shared urban spaces that provide safe spaces and passage for migratory birds benefits us all. — UNEP Executive Director, Inger Andersen.” The UNEP logo is in the top right corner
