The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is responsible for coordinating responses to environmental issues within the United Nations System. It was established by Maurice Strong, its first director, after the United Nations Conference on the Human Environment in Stockholm in June 1972. Its mandate is to provide leadership, deliver science and develop solutions on a wide range of issues, including climate change, the management of marine and terrestrial ecosystems, and green economic development. The organization also develops international environmental agreements; publishes and promotes environmental science and helps national governments achieve environmental targets. .. more

People are buying more clothes, but they don’t stay in closets for long. This fuels overproduction and waste.

An easy fix? Wear them longer. The planet will thank you!

The clean energy transition depends on minerals like lithium, cobalt & nickel, but how we mine & fund them matters.

Demand for these minerals could triple by 2030 as the world shifts to renewables to reach net zero.

Kelp forests, mangroves, seagrass meadows, and coral reefs are vital blue ecosystems that sustain our planet.

Yet, they are severely threatened by climate change, biodiversity loss, pollution, and waste.

Here's why their protection matters: www.unep.org/interactives...

The ocean gives us food, oxygen, livelihoods, and climate regulation.
But it’s under threat from overfishing, climate change, pollution, and habitat loss.

When our ocean is in crisis, so are we.
Protecting it means protecting life itself.

Mountains… ⛰️🤎

feed rivers,
shape weather,
shelter wildlife,
sustain communities,
inspire cultures,
offer refuge,
astonish with their beauty.

Yet, their importance is too often forgotten, even as they shape life far beyond their peaks.
