i dont wanna armchair diagnose but as someone who suffers from catastrophizing and is in therapy for it (among many other things ofc)..... like this is not based in reality. these ppl are projecting fleetwood mac oasis beatles 1D on a band that has REITERATED EVERY YEAR that they are family.

at this point i think ppl just enjoy catastrophizing. i've seen ppl do this w other kpop bands too, despite said bands SWEARING CONSTANTLY SAYING THEY WANNA DO THIS FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE THEYRE COMMITTED TO THE BAND AND THEIR ARTISTRY. meanwhile fans online are losing their minds every 2 days.

because uncreative people don't want to be creative. They don't want to make a film, they don't want to write a book, they don't want to make art. They want to just be a filmmaker, an author, an artist. Art is a means to an end, not the end in itself for them.

tgcf has the book, the animated version, there was also an illustrated version. it's much longer than mdzs. there is also svsss which is *my* favourite because it is unhinged and wonderful and i love my boy shang qinghua.

I just want to add: the chances of an editor not noticing, much less thinking the story is good enough to publish, are incredibly slim, while the consequences for submitting AI to publishers who don’t want it are likely severe and lasting. You might as well try writing the story yourself.
