There are several problems with appealing and deferring to the authority of the expert class. First, so-called experts have no license to countermand the 'wisdom, fairness, or logic of legislative choices." FCC v. Beach Communications, Inc., 508 U.S. 307, 313 (1993). Second, contrary to the representations of the United States and the private plaintiffs, there is no medical consensus on how best to treat gender dysphoria in children. Third, notwithstanding the alleged experts' view that young children can provide informed consent to irreversible sex-transition treatments, whether such consent is possible is a question of medical ethics that States must decide for themselves. Fourth, there are particularly good reasons to question the expert class here, as recent revelations suggest that leading voices in this area have relied on questionable evidence, and have allowed ideology to influence their medical guidance.

Last week, the Mayday Movement protested peacefully at the Heritage Foundation. Days later, Mayday founder, Peter Stinson, was arrested by the FBI.
We now know that Heritage affiliates were physically surveilling Mayday's DC encampment just days before his arrest. Meanwhile, Trump and his allies escalate rhetoric labeling protesters
"domestic threats" and using federal agencies for political targeting.
This isn't just retaliation. It's suppression.
Peter Stinson called for impeachment, not violence.
He built a movement rooted in lawful, nonviolent action. Now he's behind bars for what may have been social media comments from five years ago - dug up and used as pretext.
Let's be clear:
• Peaceful protest is not a crime.
• Dissent is not extremism.
• Political surveillance and retaliatory arrests are hallmarks of authoritarian regimes.
If they can come for Peter, they can come for any of us.
We must speak out now.

ICE has been taking babies from their foster parents and separating them from the only family they know.
